Callie

Callie is from Columbus & is a petite, cute, EXTREMELY FRIENDLY young, Calico. But she is living with a feral colony in a neighborhood where some creep has been killing ferals with poison, bashing their heads in -- & leaving them on the caretakers lawn! So, because Callie is love starved & runs up to everyone, she'll be an easy victim, if the Capital Area Humane Agent doesn't catch the jerk first. Therefore, my friend Kristine, krishelm@columbus.rr.com with CATco is frantically searching for someone to foster Callie for just a short time. Kristine had Callie spayed some time ago & the cat was great about using her litter box. Unfortunately, this is such an urgent situation, that I don't have a photo yet. But I'll vouch for Kristine, that she's very responsible & won't leave anyone stuck with the cat. Mr. Cat

Mr. Cat...has been staying on my back porch for about two years now. It’s not the best arrangement for either one of us, and to this day, drives one of my indoor cats up the wall. Mr. Cat is not very well socialized, possibly because he was a stray for too long before he ran into trouble and came to me for help. He showed up twice with a huge chunk ripped out of the side of his face and neck and I got him back to health both times. I also had him neutered. After the second episode is when he decided not to leave again!

I do care for him and feel responsible to find him a good home, but I have a one year old son and Mr. Cat does not know how to behave around him. We essentially cannot use the porch and I do want to be able to eat/play/etc. out there with Madison. I also think Mr. Cat would benefit from a situation where he would get more extensive attention; perhaps he could be better socialized."

Two Dogs In Desperate Need of Homes Chancey Chancey is a black and white dog, about 11 years old. She has no health problems other than allergies. I usually just give her Benadryl for that. She is 1/2 jack russell terrier and 1/2 springer spaniel. She is a very loyal, affectionate friend. She does not have a lot of tolerance for small kids though. She is used to being around cats. She has been spayed and is house-broken. Bear Bear is brown and about 3 years old. He has been neutered and is house-broken. He is great with kids and other dogs. He is a very lovable dog. Minnie

I have an adult cat that is scared and usually hides under the bed. My wife can occasionally hold the cat, but not for to long. We took the cat in a while ago as a rescued cat, but we are unable to make her not be so scared. She is white and has been spayed and we recently had to have all her teeth pulled due to hereditary gum issues, she is fully recovered but needs to eat softened food. She is healthy, but we realize we are not what she needs. We believe she would make someone an excellent pet if someone could work with her. Donovan

Donovan is a security guard. He patrols the perimeter, wherever he lives, each hour on the hour, then takes a couple of one-hour breaks for a nap. He talks. When the water is low, or the food bowl empty, or the litter box too dirty for him, he walks up and actually talks to you - a sort of cat barking. Very cool cat. Duke

This is Duke, he is five years old. He is a Border collie and Black Lab mix. He loves to play fetch, he will sit, beg, shake , and lay. Duke does have some behavioral problems , he is very territorial , a very good watch dog and doesn't like strangers at first.so he would need to be kept in a fenced yard. He was raised with his sister Bella and another dog named Cory and a cat named Tiger which he gets along with but we don''t know if he would be good with any other animals. We would love to see Duke and Bella go to the same home if possible as they have been together since birth. He needs a home with no small children. He is an outside/inside dog but prefers to be outside. We need to desperately find him a home as we are in a financial situation that may cause us to have to relocate soon and we can't take them with us.There will be a $100 adoption fee to insure he goes to a good home and the potential home will be checked out. Bella

This is Isabella or Bella as we have always called her. Bella is the sister of Duke but she has a lot more of Black Lab in her than Duke does. Bella has been spayed and is utd on rabies but needs to see a vet as due to our financial situtation we have not been able to take her for quite a while. She loves to play fetch and will shake hands but she is very fearful of people and it would take time to get her to warm up to anyone new, but once she did she is very loving and loyal dog. She like Duke would need a fenced in yard as she is a little territorial; also, we lived in the country and just didn't get them socialized as we would have liked. Bella is an indoor/outdoor dog and is housebroken. We don't know how she would do with other dogs either and neither of them will accept any other cat other than Tiger, because they were raised with him. Husky Mixes

These two girls were turned in to the pound by their owner after having lived most of their lives in a kennel. They need some additional socialization and are probably best as outdoor dogs.
